Sinamics Rig Build
CNC Machine Maintenance
We were asked to build a Sinamics rig for a local repair company to enable them to demonstrate and function test the latest range of Sinamics drives, motors and hardware.
This rig utilises the latest Siemens Sinamics drive cliq hardware and works the same way as a CNC machine with 840DSL control.
We specced the hardware, wrote the plc program, configured the NC data and commissioned the drives.
Everything is there to test any solutionline hardware, ncu's, nx modules; it's even capable of testing the latest HT8 remote pendants.
It can run up to 5 axis' simultaneously and is seen here running 2 axis' on a test programme we wrote. The motors will be housed in a protected cabinet, shown here just for demonstration purposes.

Many people underestimate the damage that airborne oil and dirt contamination can do. Pictured here is the root cause failure of a Siemens 16/21 kW E/R module.
The internal fan had blown contaminants all over the board eventually shorting and burning out several components and the track.
