Intermittent B Axis Encoder Faults on an XYZ 1060HS
Working on a local job today, our customer was complaining of intermittent B axis encoder faults on his XYZ 1060HS with 4th and 5th axis and 840DSL control.
When the X axis was fully at its limit, the wiring harness on the 4th / 5th axis was getting pulled and faulting out. This time, rather than repair, we replaced. The old, faulty encoder cable was completely stripped out and replaced with a new, genuine Siemens encoder cable.
Since the replacement, the machine hasn’t missed a beat, which means a happy customer and a productive machine.

This Gantry style laser cutting machine suffered a serious malfunction.
Unfortunately, a mechanical jam caused a series of drive failures; 1 regulator card and 2 LT modules (power sections) failed as a result. We were able to attend the site, diagnose and fix all of the issues and supply new hardware.

It was a pleasure to work on this old girl today. I felt very nostalgic working on this Yang with Acramatic 2100 control.
